Tough day at the office for the Masters with a pretty strong and fit Parkdale outfit taking us on our own dunghill and looking a class above very early on. Our second half was something we could hang out hats on, and Biscuits at three quarter time implored a final big effort to win the last quarter, which we did. The attack on the ball did not falter all day but a lack of pace seemed to catch us out on the rebound and as always, when you are chasing butt, you can look slow. Shane Doherty was terrific in his first up game for the Raiders along with big Dave Cooper in the ruck. Not a bad effort for a New South Welshman playing his first ever official game of Aussie Rules and he holds down the first ruck position! Matty O on his wing was good all day and did a good job in the second half in curbing Cornsy #11 for Parkdale who was running rampant, in partnership with Murph. Great to have Mouse back and to complete the animals, also great to see Monkey back on the park after his ankle injury last year. The old firm of Wakka & Byrnesy showed their obvious class, combining in the pivot for half a game each. Special mentions to Bradders’ first game after his knee op, Gags’ first up game, Jay’s attack on the ball and the man and lastly, to Cam Brown who realised being team manager sometimes earns you some free kicks!!! Cheers Slugga
