Reserves travelled to Beaconsfield for another away game
We discussed pre game about taking our good work from the Waverley win and continuing to work on first option ball usage and plenty of voice around contest and ball carrier
Beaconsfield got off to a flyer and we rallied late to be 20 points down at qtr time, we came out a much smarter outfit in the second qtr and gained back momentum to lead at half time by a couple of points
The third qtr we got a little bit outplayed and at times outclassed with Beaconsfield putting away 4-5 goals in the first 10 minutes of the qtr we then levelled up the contest and stopped the flow.
We ended up battling out the game well, and to the boys credit they did not drop there heads and continued to play the type of footy I want this group to play, we eventually lost the game by 28 points
Even though another tough loss on the road for the boys to digest, I actually thought we played well only to be out of the game for 20 minutes, however Beaconsfield capitalised on this they used the ball well into an experienced forward line group.
The pre game setups and rotations we committed to worked well and the boys are wanting to work hard for each other, team morale and good attitude is there
The Reserves are staying positive and the boys are starting to believe that we can play good competitive footy, however we need to play 4 quarters and not stop in patches of a game, I encourage everyone to get to training, as everything we do now will be crucial for our season to continue in a positive manner
Carrum next round finishes our 4 in a row away game fixture, let’s keep positive and get another Reserves win on the board
