Masters V Dingley
Second last round of the home and away season and the last home game.
The scene was definitely set for a top of the table return bout with a fired up Dingley. The ground recovered and held up well after the mid week deluge and the weather was perfect for football.
The Raiders came to play and the discipline among the playing group was nothing short of exemplary. When we play as a team and have genuine faith in our team mates abilities we are a force to be reckoned with. Playing to the structures set up before the game, we opened the first term a bit slow. It was just a matter of finding our way with the right player mix and match ups and the game flowed our way as expected.
With our game plan coming together from the first break, every player contributed as instructed and we found our groove for the first time in a long time. This was a confidence boosting win and will hopefully carry us through into the next fortnight and beyond with a heightened sense of self belief.
I urge the players who have major and minor injuries to seek the best treatment available to get yourselves into peak physical condition for the challenges we have before us. Only the strong will survive and I want an over supply of available fit players to make selection in the coming weeks a difficult task for the coaches.
Well done Masters.
At this point in the season I couldn’t be more proud of this group.
Smithy.
